Is based on the affectation that a magnetic field generated by a permanent magnet carries out on a cable.
Mechanically, the magnet (ring shape) moves by the outside of a vástago incorporating a conductor it is altered by this field. The system is free of friction because the measurement is made without contact.
In other cases, the magnet moves through a guide and it exists friction but the accuracy and reliability of the measurement is not altered by mechanical wear.
The magnetorestictivos systems are especially applied in the following conditions.
– Position measurement in hydraulic pistons. The bulb sensor is placed inside the camera supporting pressures up to 350 bar.
-Measure of move up to 3 m. In vertical position and with a good alienation we can measure long distances.
-High temperature measurement. The process temperature does not affect the measuring principle.
– Except the electronic head, the limitation comes from the thermal limitation of materials.
-Explosive zone. The series of captadores magnetorestrictivos encapsulated have ATEX versions for application in explosion risk zones.
