As its name indicates, it is applicable only to conductive fluids. It detects the increase of the conductivity of the absence of liquid (without conductivity) to the presence of it (an adjustable conductivity in the level control).
It needs a minimum of two conductive points; The one corresponding to the electrode where the level point is and the other that will always be in contact with the fluid.
A priori, we can install as many electrodes as wanted. This can be done by means of multi-electrode probes (up to 5 electrodes) or by independent electrodes situated in the top or wall of the tank.
The electronics control, usually in rail DIN para montar en armario, enables the adjustment of the sensitivity and delay in connection.
There are several types of electrodes and conductive probes. In general, we can group them:
-Sondas de punto para instalación lateral. The electrode is very small and is installed by threads in the tank wall.
-Electrodes for suspending in cable. Located at the end of the cable, they should be installed “hanging” from the mouth of the tank they are usually applied in level control of wells, cisterns and water tanks. Especially indicated at depths of more than 1.5 meters where rigid electrodes are not viable.
Independent electrodes. For fixed thread and length of 1m, we should cut the bar in a desired size.
Multiple electrodes. Multi-probe head that can incorporate several electrodes (up to 5 units).
Electrodes with PTFE protection. The electrodes incorporate a PTFE protection to avoid false contacts.
Special electrodes for boilers. Able to work up to 200 ° C and 20 bar are applied in the regulation of boilers and their minimum level security system.
